Not My Human!: a free browser game where you play as a spider

Published on 11 October 2026

House spiders get a bad rap, but they do a thankless job: they eat the mosquitoes that bite you at night. That’s what Not My Human! is about. You are the spider living in the bedroom, and your human is fast asleep. The bugs are coming for them, and your job is to keep them sleeping until sunrise.

Not My Human! gameplay: the spider hunts mosquitoes around the bed while the human sleeps

How to play

  • Hunt. Steer the spider into the bugs. Every bug that lands on your human makes them itch.
  • Don’t wake them. If the itch bar fills up, your human wakes and you lose the night. Last five minutes until sunrise and you win.
  • Webs. You leave webs on the floor as you go, and bugs get stuck in them.
  • Upgrades. Level up and pick an upgrade: venom, a pounce, silk thread, bigger webs…
  • The room matters. The window and the wardrobe open and let more bugs in. Your human leaves a banana on the nightstand, and you’ll need to wrap it before it draws flies. And watch out for the slipper.

Five spiders, four places

You start with the Orb weaver, the best web builder. Every night you win unlocks another spider: the Jumping spider, the Black widow with venom, the fast Wolf spider, and the big, slow Tarantula, which brings its spiderlings along.

Every two nights you win, your human sleeps somewhere worse: the bedroom, the kitchen (flies and roaches), a mosquito-packed campsite and a summer farmhouse with tiger mosquitoes and wasps. Along the way you meet allies: a mantis, a gecko, a house centipede circling the bed and, if you strike a pact, the ladybugs.

Why in the browser

We wanted a game that opens from a link and plays in a minute, with no store and no download. A night lasts about as long as a coffee. The game is in English and Spanish. Give it a try here.
